Balance Breaking™ is the revolutionary new method of resistance training for horses. The common practice of strength training for humans is now available for the equine athlete. Working with the individual horse's weight proportions, the method is equally effective on miniatures to drafts. Targeting and isolating each of the three core muscle groups then building them proportionally is the objective. This is the first system to consistently achieve results in front, middle and hindquarters of the horse without exception to breed or size. This includes and is highly effective on gaited horses.

Strength training for humans varies from the home gym to Olympic training facilities. From the stay at home parent to the decathlete. The evolution of the importance of muscular development in human culture has redefined itself in the last 30 years. Where once experts recommended sedentary recovery or isolated development, has now been replaced by comprehensive training routines developed around maximum effectiveness. For example, the professional baseball player or marathon runner of the 1960-70's was discouraged to lift weights in an attempt to minimize development of type II muscles (large muscle mass). Today, little leaguer's have some type of strengthening before every practice. This science is now available for the equine athlete. Pioneering this change of consciousness is The Hegeman Method of Balance Breaking™.
